Pratt Vineyards
Pratt Vineyards is nestled amongst California's Sierra Foothills near the southern El Dorado County community of Fair Play. The vineyard consists of 25 year old Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Semillon vines spanning almost 10 acres at an elevation of 2700 feet. The grapes are sold to wineries within the Fair Play community who in turn create wines that are handcrafted in small lots.

A creek and spring fed pond, lending to a natural feeling, split the property almost down the middle. Huge oak trees and rock outcroppings speckled about the vineyard add challenges and character to the property. Both north and south from the creek are gentle and sometimes steeper, terraced slopes that embrace both the warm summer days and cool evenings of this region. These slopes are planted in an east/west orientation to capture the ideal amount of sun and ensure consistency throughout the vineyard. The subtle differences between blocks and elevation add to the structure of highly complex wines.

Future projects will add Cabernet Franc along with small quantities of Malbec and Petite Verdot to diversify the range of varietals. All of which, when blended with Cabernet and Merlot, will culminate into a California-crafted classic Bordeaux-styled wine.
